How to Experience the Life God desires for you:

In the tenth chapter of the Gospel of John, Jesus said, “I have come that you might have life more abundantly.”  That’s why our founding mission at Abundant Life Fellowship is “to equip all people to live the abundant life.”

What is the “Abundant Life”?  The Bible teaches that an abundant life is a life lived for God.  When we spend our lives pursuing our own purposes and plans, we will never be able to achieve God’s best for us.  In Isaiah 55:9 God says, “My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”  In reality, God has a higher purpose and plan for our lives than we could ever come up with on our own.  God says again in Jeremiah 29:11, “I know the thoughts that I think toward you, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

God wants us to realize the plan He has for us is to live a life full of hope and peace.  As we realize that God’s desires for us are good, we can feel free to give our lives completely to Him, allowing Him to have His Way in our lives.  The Holy Bible (God’s Word to us!) is filled with instructions which, if followed will empower us and teach us how to live out those hope-filled, peace-filled lives. We will learn not only to trust God to lead us into the life He has for us, but how to avoid the traps and pitfalls that would keep us from having His best for us.

In Ephesians 3:11-12 the apostle Paul taught the church that ministries are gifts given to mankind by God to equip them to live out His plan.  Our church has centered it’s focus on training and equipping every person to live out the good life, the abundant life that God himself has planned for each of us.

Ever ask yourself the question, “How can I have a better life?”

The answer to that question lies in the truths of God’s Word.  Jesus said in John 10:10, “The thief only comes to steal, kill, and destroy.  I have come that you might have life, and that you might have it more abundantly.

We would like to invite you to join with us in the pursuit of the abundant life that only Jesus can give.  That life starts with you asking God to take part in your life, to come in and have His way in your life.  If you would like to do that, simply pray the following prayer, trusting that God is true to His word.  The bible says in Acts 2:21, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” and in Romans 10:9-10, “If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Pray this prayer today, believing God’s Word and He will join with you in making sure that you have the better life He has for you:

Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to forgive me of my sins, cleanse my heart and make me a new person.  You said in Your Word, “Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved,” and “If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and will believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

I am asking you to save me and I now confess with my mouth that Jesus is Lord of my life.  I believe in my heart that you raised Him from the dead.  Therefore, according to Your Word, I receive my salvation.

Thank you for coming into my heart, forgiving me of all my sin, and receiving me into Your family.  Thank you that I can now experience the abundant life that Jesus came to give me.

If you’ve just prayed this prayer, congratulations!  You are beginning a new life.  According to God’s Word in 2 Corinthians 5:17, the way your life used to be has passed away, and God has given you a brand new life.  Glory to God!
